Gig Date: Mon, September 8th 08
Gig Time: 10:00 pm
Cover Charge: $20
Gig Info/Notes: DIGITALISM is dirty electro pogo shit hammered by the two studio junkies Jence Moelle and Isi Tuefekci and comes directly from the underground scene of Hamburg's punk-electro city, what they do best is to make dance music that people rock to. They can really rock the crowd with a brilliant mixture between electro, wave, punk, bastard pop, acid, minimal and tech-house - either on four decks simultaneous or on two decks with a double headphone (one spins the track while the other one is dropping some accapellas, edits or efx).Whatever you expect you'll get a 100% professional multi-talented production on the one side and on the other side you have a DJ team which rocks the decks from the first record they play and let the crowd go insane after some minutes only with their pogo orientated DJ set. http://www.myspace.com/digitalism Doors@10 come early and leave late $20 advance tix can be purchased at the following location ROTATE THIS: 801 Queen Street West, Toronto 416-504-8447 PLAY DE RECORD: 357A Yonge Street, Toronto 416-586-0380 SOUNDSCAPES: 572 College Street, Toronto 416-537-1620 TICKETWEB: http://www.ticketweb.ca WANTICKETS: http://www.wantickets.com

Venue Info/Notes: Small?s Hotel opened in 1890 to serve as a hub to the Canadian Pacific Railway that linked Downtown with the lakeside summer homes of Toronto?s western beaches. In 1949, Michael Lundy purchased the property, renamed it The Drake and made many of the improvements visible today, including a grand staircase in the lobby and the addition of a large lounge and restaurant. By the 80?s, The Drake had fallen upon hard times - at times a punk bar, all night rave den and come-by-chance flophouse. The current owner purchased the property in late 2001 and undertook the extensive renovations that give the hotel its current form - a celebration of its fabulous history.
