PAWNSHOP Fridays new resident DJ, Alicia Hush has been seemingly quick to arrive on the Toronto electronic music scene and in truth, is quick to arrive having just moved to TO under a year ago to focus on her Music + DJing. What many do not know, is that while Alicia Hush is very much a new kid on the block, she is anything but a new kid to the decks.. DJing for over 8 years, alicia got her start in Kitchener playing at friends parties. Basement parties turned into club gigs in 2002 and club gigs turned residencies around Kitchener which turned into a few Toronto , traveling to Taiwan she continued to DJ being voted best foreign female DJ by Taipei Times. Alicia's return to Canada in 2006 however did not provide her the same distinction and marked the beginnings of a musical transition back in to what would be the place of passionate connect that inspires her sets to this day... Struggling to emerge out of her shell initially, this talented technician turned a slow start into a full on unrelenting sprint into herself and the sound she had first loved... Coming full circle with confidence and influence, Alicia Hush is making her mark behind the decks across this City with her minimal bass-bouncy-tech-tweaky sounds. This girl is definitely one to watch evolve.

HushLamb Productions: Alicia Hush and Sarah Lamb joining forces to throw bs free, music focused, bouncing, beat driven, body shakin, flop frenzied events!
For those who wanna know, here is our story :
Alicia and I met on a dance floor. Vibed off eachothers style and mutual tendancy to dance into a sweaty mess... connected instantly.
Music took us over and friendship followed.......not too long after that introduction, after a night of sweatin to one of TO's talented DJS, we returned to suite 303 to chill down, vibe to some beats and ease into sleepy time....convos sparked as per our custom and talk of Alicia Hush the DJ began.
At this point, Alicia had been playing for a while but couldn't really break into the TO scene. She had just returned from DJing in Taiwan and was living in KDub and her sound was not really opening doors in TO...she was getting a lot of requests for vocals and less techy sounds... and she was doing her best but was starting to lose the love in trying to work her sound around...
I guess you could say she was at a bit of a musical crossroads when she and i got talking about me giving this management thing a whirl... but with nothing to lose we figured, let's do it - i'd manage dj alicia hush - decided we should get a little name and came up with hushlamb productions.....had no idea what we were producing but we figured it was something to do with music and smiles and dancing and good vibes so we rolled with it........
And like any dj/management team who can't land a gig......we started throwing our own parties...
A year later, here we are.......and really more importantly to me, i can say to you all with pride, here she is, MS ALICIA HUSH!
As HushLamb, we have grown together, explored music together and we have fell in love.........In Love with the energy, the subtle tweaks, the solid bass lines, the smooth progression, the random unexpected journeys, the all out frenzied fits that this world of electronic music has offered up to us..........We have fell in love with the partiers who lose their shit when they hear that certain track, the DJS who drop it for them, the promoters who see through the fog and bring it real and most of all the dancers who keep it going..........
we love music + we love dancing and we think there is room in this city for all kinds of really good djs and all kinds of really good beats to dance to .........And without out getting too misty eyed, we sort of think it has all only just begun.........Toronto's underground is starting to clap its hands together, starting to make room for eachother in differences and in likeness, starting to bop its collective head a lil back and forth to the beat of something bigger than any one of us standing alone......and my friends, it has only just begun.....

I would be an ass if i didn't mention - every sikass flyer you see with hushLamb's name or logo on it... that is the creative genius of Marc, aka Mr Raule DUke.... freakin brilliant graphic designer and very much a part of the hushlamb team. his love and creativity - gave our parties voice!
