 The rather prosaically-named 'Robert-Johnson' club in Frankfurt surprised many recently when they seemingly went against all the rules of event promotion and decided not to tell anyone who was on their lineups on any given weekend.
The rather prosaically-named 'Robert-Johnson' club in Frankfurt surprised many recently when they seemingly went against all the rules of event promotion and decided not to tell anyone who was on their lineups on any given weekend.
However, the small, 250-capacity venue was finding itself having to turn away hundreds every week as word of the acts they were booking was getting out - with people like Richie Hawtin, Ricardo Villalobos and all that kind of crowd regularly dropping in to spin, it was rapidly starting to get out of hand.
So, they changed the formula - instead of name dropping, they've decided to do a weekly podcast, where the mix will be compiled by the DJ spinning that weekend - if you like the mix, come, if you don't - well, maybe next week will be more your thing.
