The MIDI festival is China's largest rock/electronic music festival. Inaugurated in 1997 it has run every year in Beijing over the May holiday (May 1-3), although government problems in '03 and '04 meant the organisers had to take a break
The festival is hosted by the Beijing Midi School of Music, Beijing's first and only rock music school.
Held in Beijing's Haidian Park, previous years have seen numbers ranging from 40-80,000 with many Chinese and international bands including Alev, Monokino, Dave Stewart, Yokohama Music Association, The Wombats, and The Mayflies performing rock, electro, and DJ sets. |
