Celebrating 35 Years

In 1973, the Aquarius Festival turned ?back to nature? and celebrated the dreams of youth ? happiness, health, freedom and wellbeing for families, the community and planet.

The Nimbin Aquarius Festival recycled a dying rural town, showcased visions for better health and education and inspired a movement of people that transformed the region and created a true rainbow culture.

Many of the optimistic dreams of Aquarius are now embraced as natural values by our wider society, especially in care for community and the environment. The fears expressed back then about the harm that human activity was having upon our planet?s future is now accepted as real and much more urgent.

Thirty five years on, many dreams have become real. With limitless lifestyle choices in an earthly paradise, people have been creatively engaged in developing innovative and sustainable methods of food production, housing, enterprise, creative expression and healing for individuals and community.
