If you missed this summer's Big Day Out, you missed a treat, as Australia's largest touring music festival brought a stellar lineup to Perth, Melbourne, Adelaide and the Gold Cost.

With temperatures hitting a scorching 35 degrees, music fans kept cool while listening to the finest artists from Australia and around the world. Many of the punters were here to catch the reunification of Rage Against the Machine, who wowed fans with their powerful brand of political rock?n?roll. Iceland?s queen of eccentricity, Bjork, delivered an enchanting set, which featured a spectacularly clad, all-girl horn section.

Punters enjoyed the leafy surrounds of the outdoor Boiler Room, where many of the BIG DAY OUT?s hottest names ? including electro kings LCD Soundsystem, Carl Cox and Australia?s own Pnau ? delighted fans with killer live sets.

Aussie artists once again proved a hit with festival-goers: Novacastrians Silverchair thrilled fans on Blue Stage in the early evening, while songsmith Paul Kelly closed proceedings in style on the Green Stage and local indie kings The Stems delighted their home crowd on the Essential Stage.

Following a joint briefing session held directly after the Perth event, this information has been compiled in conjunction with representatives of the following organisations and to the best of our collective knowledge this summary is an accurate and up to date representation of the day?s incidents.
