As the run-up to the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing continues, attention is once again focussed on the long-running tensions caused by China’s occupation of Tibet. A cause celebre for artists and most people whose political outlook leans towards the liberal, the music industry has always been one of the most outspoken voices when it comes to the Freedom for Tibet movement. 
Well, I was quite looking forward to Mr. Da Housecat's new GU offering - we at CGWW towers are fans of Felix's electro-clash-tinged housey sound. The package consists of two CDs - one entitled 'Fuck Rock' and the other 'Fuck Rave'. The first, 'Fuck Rock' isn't particularly Rocky at all - it's more 3am chugging minimal and electro. 
A quirky little album here from Mexican Institute of Sound, aka head of EMI Mexico, Camilo Lara. Billed as 'Electronica meets Cha-Cha and Cumbia', 'Mejico Maxico' is a pleasantly kitsch collection of beats that brought to mind a number of quite diverse influences
